This was a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and the amenities ideal. The staff were very friendly, even ensuring, without my asking, that my helicopter ride shuttle was en route. If I return to this super scenic place, I will certainly try to book here again.

Thanks Julian, great to hear from you. Nice way to travel….all the best.

Aoraki Court Motel exceeded all our expectations. Large rooms with great facilities, Heated floor in bathroom! Great views and great hosts. Parking right outside the front door. I believe Chamois bar lost out as we spent too much time dining in our room! This is the place to stay at Mt Cook. Faults if any, smaller coffee cups and better tv facilities…

Thanks, Andrew, for your review. Great to have feedback and we are certainly looking at upgrading our TV’s. Safe travels and all the best.

The location can’t be beat! The staff were very helpful and answered all my questions. The rooms were very clean and they had everything I need in the kitchen! I will stay here again!

Thank you, Dana, for your kind review. Pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable time staying with us. Take care and safe travels.

What a wonderful few days we spent exploring the Mount Cook area and staying at Aoraki Court.

Our accommodation was so comfortable – lovely rooms, very well-equipped kitchen, stunning views and a bathroom to beat all bathrooms!

All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and gave really helpful information about local amenities and a detailed map.

We were blessed with amazing weather (apart from a wild half hour of rain and hail on the Hooker Valley Track), beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Unfortunately our stargazing experience was cancelled because of cloud cover but we really enjoyed going to the planetarium instead and have done some stargazing in Lake Tekapo since then.

Would we return to Aoraki Court? Yes – in a heartbeat – and hopefully for 4 nights instead of 2!

Thank you for such a great stay.

Thank you Sue for your glowing review. So pleasing to hear that you had a wonderful experience within the National Park. Safe travels.

The room was clean and spacious, with spectacular scenery view. Everything was very good besides the attitude of staff at check out – they were very reluctant (and even a bit rude) in providing a few more minutes for checking out.

Hi AI, apologies for that but in the summer months our staff are extremely busy between check out time, 10am, and check in time 2pm, to get all of the units ready for the next round of incoming guests. That short window gets even shorter when some guests want to stay longer and at the same time, incoming guests arrive before 2pm. We do not have spare inventory to help us through, so we do need all departing guests to leave by 10am. Thanks for your review and we hope you had a great time down south.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at the Aoraki Court Motel. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. All the staff from reception to housekeeping was incredibly friendly and welcoming. This will be our go to accommodation next time we stay in the Mt Aoraki National Park.

Thank you Mirjam for your review. Pleased to hear that your stay with us went well. Make sure if you are coming back to email/call us in advance as we do get quite busy through the summer months. Remember to book direct for the best price and flexibility. Take care.

This was our second time staying at this beautiful premises. Not only do they have a wonderful view, the units are new, clean, and nicely equipped. We loved our time here, and are already making plans for going back to this magical area!

Thank you, Tracy, for your kind words. So nice to have you again stay with us. We would love to see you again in the future. Cheers.

I had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The room was well appointed, and pristine. I spent 2 nights here in preparation of walking the Alps to Ocean cycle track. The room, # 4, and nice views of the glaciated mountains to see he west of Mt. Cook.

The Chamois Restaurant was about a 3-4 minute walk from the property, and the Hermitage Hotel less than 15 minutes walk.

The owners were helpful with directions and activities suggestions. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a relaxing, quiet, stay.

It was also a treat to have the local ducks stop by for a visit on the back patio.

Cheers, to the staff.

Thanks, Dennis, for your review. I hope the walk went to plan. Take care and all the best.

What a lovely stay We are so happy to select Aoraki Court Motel for the two nights we spent at Mout Cook because the room is so clean, warm and spacious. The view was WOW. Fiona and Rex provided everything we needed, but we didn’t cook inside the room because we didn’t want to make such a lovely room smelly. We highly recommend Aoraki Court Motel if you want to enjoy the beauty of Mout Cook.

Great Location This was a nice place to stay, it had good kitchen facilities to use as there aren’t many options to eat at Mt Aoraki, lots of room plus clean and tidy. The views from our unit were just fantastic!!!!

DO NOT STAY. CREEPY, UNPROFESSIONAL, RACIST. Do not stay: creepy and unprofessional management. After arriving at Aoraki Court Motel after a long drive, the managers were openly racist. At check in, the manager noted “don’t cook odorous foods, ESPECIALLY CURRY” as he looked up at me, an Indian American. As we unpacked, we noticed the same manager staring and leering at us peeking out from the corner of the building, especially at the girls in our group from the side of the property. It was clear he went out of his way to come and look at us unpack. We felt so uncomfortable that we had to close our blinds the entire time because we caught him trying to peek in. As for the hotel itself, the facilities were fine (except for the broken refrigerator) but the hotel will try to nickel and dime you for everything. You get charged for using the coffee maker; cleaning fees are at the hotel’s sole discretion; and many more. It may seem like a deal at booking but you’ll get screwed on the back end.Never in my life have I experienced such a lack of hospitality at a hotel. I’m not sure if the manager was having a bad day or is just casually racist and potentially a pervert. We left as soon as the reception opened the next morning. Stay at literally any other property and you’ll have a great time a Mt. Cook.
Very clean, spacious and with a fantastic view of the mountains. I had the jacuzzi room, room 9. Fiona is very welcoming, warm and hospitable. The room includes a handy folder which orientates you to the locale with maps, trails and other essential details. The room is very spacious, with a decently sized kitchen/pantry by the entrance equipped with cutleries and kitchenware. There’s also a nice study next to the bed. The room just felt really roomy and there was so much space paired with the large windows. It just felt like a worthwhile experience, almost too much to experience alone on my own. This would be a great room to share with a couple or a couple of friends. The nature of the layout meant, however, that I could not keep the curtains open all the time since everyone would be able to see whatever I am doing in my room. (My room was facing the entrant doors and the parking lots of various other motels)The toilet of this space was the highlight since that’s where the jacuzzi tub was. I only booked this room because all the other rooms were fully booked. Still, I could not resist enjoying a bubbling hot tub soak on a cold winter night. It’s a nice heart-shaped tub that’s good for two, even better for one since I had the entire tub to myself. The jets were powerful, and most importantly, the tub was very clean! The water and heating were fantastic, the water got hot quickly even on a cold winter night. The toilet and the entrance was tiled, but they were heated which made for a nice experience walking around barefooted. Every morning, I’d wake up to the ever-changing alpine landscape above. I feel safe and warm from my stay here, and would recommend others to give this motel a try as well.
Stunning views from our Executive Spa Studio We really enjoyed our stay here and opted for a front view Executive Spa studio and stayed in #24. As soon as we entered the studio our jaws dropped because the views are so stunning! As it was end of June there was snow on the mountains. We were also lucky to be blessed with excellent weather. The studio was lovely and warm and bed was medium/soft and comfortable. I loved having a kitchenette to make a simple dinner at night and a bacon and egg breakfast in the morning. There’s a microwave, toaster, kettle plus 2 electric rings to cook on. Tea and coffee sachets are provided and a small carton of milk and pepper and salt. There was no underfloor heating in our bathroom but the spa bath and shower was excellent. Mt Cook village is tiny. So don’t expect shops or petrol station etc. But the drive there and back is amazing. Plus the main reason we stayed there was to walk the Hooker Valley Track. The scenery is out of this world and as the sun was shining the lakes looked turquoise. It’s a 3hr walk there and back and so worth it. Wrap up warm in winter! Don’t hesitate to book here, you are sure to enjoy yourselves.

Totally recommend this place for a stay! The room was really comfortable with a king sized bed and a well equipped kitchen. Excellent location with beautiful views of snow capped mountains and valley. Easy access to the information centre and not far from the hermitage for dinner or a drink.

Good option to be close to trails in Mt. Cook We weren’t able to get into The Hermitage and this was a good option to still be close by. Rooms were clean. Felt that it was a bit pricey for the accommodation, but you’re paying for location, which was excellent.
